One woman, two trains and the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class

There are a lot of reasons why we here at Courtesy Motors Auto Center, Inc. are so very proud of the Mercedes-Benz models on our lineup. One of the biggest is that of their industry-leading safety standards. After all, heated seats and improved fuel economy kind of pale in comparison to the importance of keeping you and your loved ones safe behind the wheel.

Because in the off chance that your vehicle ever gets hit by multiple trains, you'll be awful glad to have the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class to protect you.

Case in point: a woman from Utah who was on the run from Johnny Law last week.

Reportedly, the said 29-year-old was attempting to evade police after they responded to a disturbance call. The chase was on and, lucky for us, one of the responding officers had his dashboard camera turned on to capture it. Unfortunately for the woman in question, the video starts with her and her Mercedes-Benz GL-Class running into a freight train that was barreling down the tracks.

Needless to say, the chase was over before it started, but since the woman and her vehicle were in no condition to make a swift getaway, there wasn't much she could do to avoid the second train as it rammed her from behind. Ordinarily, this kind of story would quickly turn tragic and we wouldn't be passing it along to you fine folks. But thanks to safety that comes standard in the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, our woman on the run walked away from her run-in with nothing more than a broken arm.

Like we said, there's a lot to like about these beauties of ours, and if you'd like to learn more about what makes them so incredibly safe, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to fill you in. Or if you'd rather experience it first-hand, your test drive awaits you at our dealership here in Chico, CA. Just keep away from the tracks.
